Guidelines For Class Participation
Participating in class will represent 50% of your grade. You must make a contribution during each class and your homework counts towards your participation. The following guidelines will be used by the instructor to assess your level of class participation:
Outstanding Participation:
A – Answers questions without prompting
Asks significant questions
Offers insights to the areas being discussed
Actively participates by doing more than is expected
Wants to learn all there is on the subject

Active Participation:
B – Answers questions without prompting

Shows active interest in learning

Adequate Participation:
C – Answers questions when asked – occasionally without prompting
Asks a few questions
Shows interest in learning
Asks a few questions
Shows interest in learning
Minimal Participation:
D – Answers questions when asked
Will not contribute to the class discussion otherwise
Will not contribute to the class discussion otherwise
No Participation:
F – Piped up once or twice
